Convincing and considerate, you were a policeman, Officer Cook, who was devoted and determined to rid violence and evil in Dade County. Its people have the results to show that good work and honesty do bring out the best of liberty, freedom and serenity. Badge#1664 was worn by a gentleman of nobility and civility. Our sanctity was provided by your stallwart endeavors to calm people down, if only you could have gotten that frustrated and diabolical to surrender peacefully that awful day of May 16, 1979, when humanity fruitions and journeys were in danger. They became your destinies, Officer Cook and your motivations and staunch leadership capabilities have now advanced to eternity where you can have the greatest influence over those brave and humane servants who try their hands at dignity, humility and the integrity that is relied upon from every affirmed law enforcement professional. Girded by strength and the power of devotion and faith, may your family, colleagues and friends move forward with your agendas, Officer Cook, first be happy and follow your pursuits with all the gusto and passion. Secondly, be honest and reliable, loyal and accomodating to those in need. Third, be available to lend a helping hand, after all it takes a team effort to combat the affects the violence and its associated evil. You delivered these traits, Officer Cook and it was Dade County's folks who were the beneficiaries. Never again will we see true vision, wisdom and the maturity beyond the crowd as explained by your comrade, friend and classmate, Chief Geoffrey Jacobs. You just continue to be missed tremendously, Officer Cook, the character, values and intrinsic morals needed to fight these wars of wickedness. A polite young man who displayed the proper temperment to deal with anything that came your way, Officer Cook and for those living in Dade County during your career they are the ones who benefit from your boldness, honor and the humane and humble dignity and integrity. It all went a long way in making peace and unity a reality for all. Your community, Officer Cook, continues this day to salute your character, courage and commitment to both pride and excellence. You were cradled in your mother, Mrs.Julia Cook's devout and firmly faithful arms and now and forever are you and your honorable soul being kept cradled in the merciful and humble hands of Our Lord. Dade County, its residents, your family and colleagues have much to be appreciative of your humility gently serving our community in search of some peace, safety and the goodwill of mankind. Humanely dignified and possessing the finest set of principles to go out and to patrol looking for trouble and evil before it had a chance to rear its ugly head. You did all you could that tragic day of May 16, 1979, Officer Cook, one young gallant and nobleman of good deeds, righteousness and the vision and wisdom to make some sense of this terror that struck. A hateful and depressed young man looking to attack the virtues of good men and women brave and true. We will always look back and remember a savvy warrior and a savior whose undying and unselfish sacrifice made all the difference in how enhancement continues its paths of resolve. Thank God for all Dade County residents that you were a well respected and honorable man, Officer Cook. One gallant gentleman whose compass of courage and valor was always pointed in the proper direction. Character, conviction and commitment flowed from those cups of compassion and the passion by which you carried out your daily missions of faithfulness, charisma and the maturity to face danger and at least try to conquer its rotten odor. The streets were well served and preserved by a man of genuine love for his fellow man. Terror and turmoil can terminate any otherwise quiet day. Their treachery unleashes the kind of evil and violence that can be felt far and wide. To counteract this problem one must have stability and accountability from their loyal and honorable public servants. The remedies and cures are not always in front of us, as one must be resolved and dignified in their pursuits of peace and its atoning serenity. Your fruitful journeys, your missions of resolve and humility all the result of hard work , keeping peace and civility while staying the courses of honesty, integrity and dignity. It's an illusion to think one can fight crime by themselves. You need the efforts of an entire department and the citizens of any given community at large to cooperate in this seemingly unending brawl over evil. And so for six years of humane commitment that is what you delivered to Dade County and its citizens. One man whose quality of character and endearing enhancement that shall never be forgotten.
