Reflections for Police Officer William Coleman Cook

Unity is one instrument. And that is to bring one and all together even in times of crisis and strife. You see the real honest people and those just going through the motions. Dignity, desire and integrity when protecting life and property are not agents by which you go through the motions. Ordinary individuals have these same characteristics just as all humble and loyal public servants must. You possessed superior capabilities, Officer Cook, sheltering Dade County and its folks from terror by maintaining calm even in a stressful situation. May 16, 1979, sure was that day, hot, sunny and very confrontational for you and your fellow officers in Liberty City. What transpired next, you gave your life and career for peace and its potentials to make their rounds throughout a community that salutes your ingenuity, wisdom and humility. Bringing sanity and sense back to those clamoring for a sense of values and pride. The good Lord gives and He takes back His angelic heroes and heroines of valor to safely patrol His sacred pathways of perfection where no further harm will happen to you. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.
