The sword bends, it cannot strike. The pitfalls and perils of evil prove undaunting for our most beloved and honest of public servants to handle. Your mettle, Officer Cook, was to fight and to conquer outrage. The crimes that take place torment our most loyal and dedicated of women and men. Nothing was going to deter you, Officer Cook, that fateful day. The moment came and you arrived on the scene to foil the foul weathered actions of Mr. Pearsall. A notorious young man bent on revenge. His boldness was to abuse and to physically harm you, Officer Cook and your colleagues of serenity and liberty that afternoon. Liberty City and for that matter all Dade County people can forever feel the gentleness of your soul as it was there and now hovers high atop God's mountains of mercy and hope. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. Boldness placed in the wrong hands can spell trouble, unfortunately your life, Officer Cook, has been blessed in those beautifully wonderful blue skies.

Thoughts and blessings, whatever, the humbleness of your generosity and gallantry, Officer Cook, still cannot undo that day of awful proportions when Dade County's folks received the full measure of your character, commitment and convictions to wisdom, vision and maturity. Twenty-five years of service and a nobly peaceful life where humility stood for honor and integrity. Right now as I leave these reflections, I keep thinking if somehow you were alive and well, retired and enjoying your fruits of labor with Karen. Somewhere tranquility is much more vivid and vivacious where your soul sleeps soundly in Our Lord's lair of angelic heroes and heroines. All brave men and women, their souls bared one another to the terrible forces of evil and their sacrifices all a kindred to how they lived and gave up something very sacred. The powers to be, Officer Cook, have preserved your dignity and kept your badge as clean as a whistle. Boldness. Alacrity. Ingenuity and intelligence to battle an opponent tough as nails. Never more resiliency, no words just actions of sanctity and civility from your heart.

Evil is as evil does. Terror tragically lights those lights of infamy and shame, its revenge spreads our far and wide. Those nets were cast over all Dade County when you patrolled its boundaries, Officer Cook. Looking for common sense and reason can be compared to looking for a needle in a haystack. You did seek out friendliness among those whom you loyally and faithfully served. No man's dignity and honor goes unnoticed when their humility and heroism are placed in the crosslines of fire as you secured and resolved as best you could. God took your fine character and thoughtfully humble soul of serenity back to heaven to keep track of what is transpiring here. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. Everything comes out in the laundry at some point. You help to curb violence through your courageous heart.

Oriented and outstanding, you did your roles real well, Officer Cook and because of your bravery and honesty may they rain down on those who have succeeded you. It's very important that Dade County and its people get the most courteous and resolute service from its most dignified of professionals. Resolve and hope, trust and responsibility must be loudly and humbly attached to any uniform where measures of meaning come through those doors of civility. Only humility given back to humanity will solve those issues and your sacrifice, Officer Cook, proved beyond a shadow of doubt who you were and what you represented. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. The puddles of proficiency shall never evaporate only evil which must be corralled once and for all. Mankind needs peace to be pursuant of its happiness.

An untimely death of a loved one takes grief and turns it to pain. That in turn creates a gigantic vacuum from a family struggling to cope with their loss. Valor and courage, the precision of bravery and perseverance sets off a chain of events which at least help to restore the memories of our bravest of loved ones. You were a true Dade County hero, Officer Cook, concerned with wrapping up terror and with your sheer tenaciousness you brought positive feedback to all whom you served and watched over. Now your character is needed in a more special venue, Our Lord's shelter where as one of His angelic servants you may patrol more freely and never have to be concerned with any harm. You paid the price for freedom and harmony to come our way. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.
