People who aim to kill do so to maim and fuel their sickest of demons. There's no pleasure in having to mourn your loved ones, brave and battle tested. Police work is not a gravy job. In fact, it is saturated with serious issues that can cost lives. Sometimes those deficiencies involve one or more police from the same department. Those bad apples must be picked out and taken off duty immediately before more imminent harm occurs. Your job, Officer Cook, protecting the good people of Dade County was tough and back during your watch, things were not like today. Sophisticated equipment and communications which are central to restoring law and order were not always around. You made the best of what you utilized and it still boils down to old fashioned honor, integrity and the articles of ingenuity and reverence that may pull you away from danger caused by wanton violence. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.
