Tragedy brings torment and pain to those who bereave the loss of a loved one. Your untimely passing, Officer Cook, brought tears to your family and peers with whom you served in protecting us here in Dade County. A solemn young man with a gentle heart and graceful soul of peace and harmony. We can fondly so honor that very same instrument which along with integrity and dignity brought the chaos of callousness down for a ten count. The cherished and revered source of wisdom and relevance, clarity from a clear perspective that was morally courageous. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

Pleasures are the passions of many. Pursuits are the journeys of the humble. It is in the hearts of the brave and loyal, the esteemed and excellent women and men who steer their lives to peace and security. Yours, Officer Cook, left an impression on Dade County that will stay anchored to those cornerstones you set up forever. It was in your DNA of character and commitment, dignity and integrity aware and always present in your being. We never had to worry. Only evil and violence needed had to worry for your vigilance was going to upset the routines that turmoil looks to set down. Humanity was always served by your loving embrace and no doubt all these decades later heaven can only be grateful for your keeping those golden pavements safe. Dade County's pavements were duly protected by your undying and unenviable tasks of love and respect, Officer Cook. A man full of ferocity and the ideals of ingenuity, integrity and intuition steering himself around the havens where peace and stability belonged. Your compasses, Officer Cook, were always pointed in the proper directions as the righteous only know. Dignity and gentle persuasion have been uplifted into God's gentlest of graces and only your heroic humility can steer those who now carry on your legacy where it can have a most influencing affect. It was your blood and guts, Officer Cook, that was lying on that hot asphalt on that afternoon in Dade County as you laid down your life and career honorably and heroically saving those civilians and your esteemed and courageous comrades from a deranged madman. A shame the paramedics and doctors at North Shore Hospital could not revive you, Officer Cook. You were a vibrant young man so gifted and gallant, so humble and humane, so dignified and yearning. Integrity and ingenuity surely took the right cycles down those roads of giving and scruples. Police must keep their composure in all times of calm and stress. The homage and honors, paid to your beautiful and bountiful soul had to be priceless and chilling. Your humility and civility helped our community steer around those signs of trouble and turmoil. You won't ever be overlooked nor forgotten. Valor and bravery get placed on those top shelves where all can view its balance and blessings God gave you and your family. Monday will be your 103rd birthday Mrs. Cook. A Pristine and happy birthday filled with good health, peace and prosperity. the very same elements your beloved and darling son, "Billy," gave back to mankind. You responded to a domestic scene replete with your honesty, sanctity and serenity. All you tried your utmost to do is to get a troubled man from surrendering.
