But unfortunately that awful day your family, department and the entire police nation suffered a terrible loss. Too many accidents. Tragedies that can be prevented. Fallen trees, horses rearing up, electrocutions whatever police are losing their lives and now with Covid-19 you have to realize what our world is going through and suffering beyond belief. You were dignified, honest with a first class reputation for sincerity and being thoughtful, Officer Cook. A man who was honest and decent, a gentleman with a sterling and stellar work ethic. Dade County had the best along with your two brave colleagues that fateful day, Officers DiGenova, Edgerton and your partner, Reserve Officer Lincoln. The four of you had your hands full that day with a man bent on anger, heinousness and no respect for authority. We cannot surmise what you all were contemplating. If he just gave up the ending would have been better for Karen and the entire Cook Family. A man with desire, dedication and determination battling his behind off to keep this human being from harming others. Badge#1664 was about class, politeness and scruples.
