Reflections for Police Officer William Coleman Cook
A rake for leaves. A shovel to dig and close a hole. An ax used to chop. A man, young at heart with humility and caring dripping from his heart. Your heart, Officer Cook, wa scaring in nature and concerned with trust, truth and justice. It was doled out fairly and equally for all Dade County. Never a bad remark, never a doubt regarding diligence and resourcefulness. Evil was undressed and put in its place by your unrelenting courage and mettle. All along, Officer Cook, you had dreams and aspired to become a policeman. Nothing wrong with that as you chose your line of work willingly, freely and without remorse. Your loved ones miss terribly as they are devout and have the faith that Our Lord is watching over you and your father as I'm typing this moment. Communicating and acting calmly in the very face of peril was how you worked that is why your comrades enjoyed teaming up with you. Their hero and of course your family's warrior! Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

Every lead, every piece of information can and will be used to uncover the scent of wanton chaos. You went to great lengths, Officer Cook, to formulate a good career, one headed for greatness if only violence did not take you from among your wonderful family, friends and colleagues whose souls were as heroic, humane and brave as your soul was. Cherished and respected, having the components of conviction, commitment and character to reach out and leave an undeniable impression upon Dade County's folks all these decades later. A supremely loyal and constructed public servant whose honor and integrity rested on your crisp uniform of knowledge and kindness. No better a man, no finer a human being, a hero forevermore in those big blue skies. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

Police are those highly motivated and shining legends of heroism whose honor and dignity are like fine diamonds. And the citizens they look after are the jewels to whom serenity and safety belong ably in their homes. Your home, Officer Cook, was your castle where you and Karen lived and where your friends came to gather for parties along with your other family members. Dade County was prepared by your vigilance and virtue a cog of your courage and honesty. It led you to finding evil and trying to undermine its presence where only good cheer and liberty shall be in attendance. Quality of character, police try and plan for certain situations, unfortunately, Our Creator needed your soul of humanity gracing His domain. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. We pay homage and offer a heartfelt salute for your civility and nobleness.

Objectivity requires a unique skill to accomplish. Police need all the talents they can muster in order to tame terror. Tyranny shall not run rampant. Dade County has dealt with adversity just as all large venues do and from time to time great men and women, brave, heroic and humane have stood in there fighting off these electrifying forces of evil. Say no more thanks to your undying heroism ,Officer Cook, which shielded humanity from a firestorm of fierce violence. One spark of wanton mayhem can shoot through a region rather quickly causing panic and sheer deprivation. You acquitted yourself, properly and with the highest regard for life and society. Enhancement was channeled in through your unquestionable integrity and the dignity to promote joy for all. It will always be sad and terrible you could not be a part of these changes that are taking place because of your heroics. God has your soul covered for safekeeping as His pearly gates are being patrolled twenty-four seven by His supreme angels of valor. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

Deception is a form of rejection. And the exception to this is one who carries themselves in a dignified and honorable manner. You composed your life and career, Officer Cook, with morals and ideals which today and forever are being saluted as is your character and integrity. You poured your heart and soul out there on the streets of Dade County, those rocky pavements where you gave your life to protect the humility and sanctity of why we are human beings. We are placed here for a purpose., a reason to perform God's merciful and truthful goodwill. It took your utmost in excellence, wisdom and dedication to create the tunnels of safety and your unselfish tenacity. Never forgotten beyond anything that your family wishes could bring you back to them, rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. The other day while I was doing my chaplaincy visits a young woman had two sons, Zane and Messiah, meaning the redemption which is real soon. Keep observing us and your family, your peers who battled along side of you this unwanted evil which jeopardizes permanent prospects for respect and resolve here in this great nation.

The parachute of perseverance, proficiency and proud work were all staples of your cherished professional life and police career, Officer Cook. And make no mistake, valor and honor as all humble and heroic servants of the Lord must surely possess. Police are not Superman with a cape and costume. Domestic disputes and any other calls public servants receive demand the highest attention level. All you did that fateful day, Officer Cook, was to try and to diffuse an already bad situation. Leave bad manners outside. Alertness and awareness are in the house. Home is generally the venue where etiquette is preached, practiced and adhered to strictly. You taught other officers the ABC's of good police work and no better a man of heroism, the backdrops of honor and humility so instilled in your blessed heart and constitution. You took charge of others during violent times and were an extra special servant of God, decent and classy whose legacy reflects as such. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.
