I am a police officer and have been seen 1981 in Greenup Co. I love local history in law enforcement .
Sorry I have not heard of officer Coffee and his story.
Could you tell me where his grave is and if his family are still local.

Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 58th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

Although we never got to meet, my Daddy made sure that you were not forgotten and now that duty has fallen to me. You are memorialized in D.C. and Richmond, Ky. at the Fallen Officers Memorials. You never met your 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren, but I have made sure they know who you were and the sacrifice you gave to 'Protect and Serve' all. We know that you are with our Dad and now patrol with St. Michael in Heaven. I will see you someday. We love you!!
