So very sad to report that Debra Ward (Crisp) passed away on April 30, 2019. This family has suffered so much starting with the murder of Officer Ward in 1992.

Why is this man free? Aggravated murder should not be considered trivial and the murderer should not be set free until every second of his sentence is served especially in light of the fact that he murdered a police officer!

Well you're killer has been released from prison. I am confused why it is happening right now, because under the sentence he received, life with a 30 year minimum for aggravated murder, should have kept him in prison until at least 2022. I hope that the board is right, hopefully he won't be causing anymore trouble.

Still fondly remembering Frank and glad to see that his killer is going to be in prison for at least another five years. I think about his wife and kids and hope that life has been good to them over time.

These words were written about soldiers but I always believed them to also apply to law enforcement officers:
God and the soldier, all men adore
In time of danger and not before.
When the danger is passed and all things righted,
God is forgotten and the soldier slighted.

Unknown how the parole board can see this is fitting. May God continue to be with you and your family throughout this never ending ordeal. RIP Ofc. Ward and thank you for your service and sacrifice.

I was fortunate enough to know Frank. I went to the academy with him and know he was a devout family man who loved this job. His funeral was the very first law enforcement funeral I ever attended. Unfortunately it wasn't the last. It was both overwhelming as well as enouraging to see the huge family of law enforcement come together.
Thank you Frank for the sacrifice you made on April 8th, 1992. We will continue to stand up for you and oppose this appauling decision.

To the family of Ofc. Ward. Always remember your loved one for the good that he did. Ofc. Ward is thought of far and wide as are all of his fallen brothers. My thoughts and prayers are with you. How something like this could happen is incomprehensible to me. The Board of Parole should be investigated..!!

Shame on the State of Oregon Parole Board for allowing this murderer to walk free. Officer Ward's wife and children truly received a life sentence with no chance of parole, as they will live every day with this tragic loss of a loved one. Officer Ward may very well have saved the life of Ward's initial focus of violence. We all will ALWAYS REMEMBER OFFICER WARD'S SACRIFICE.
I have laid down my life in service to all of you.
I have been a part of the fabric that has held the line between your safety and your victimization. I have given my life so that others may live in peace. I have lived my life as a dedicated member of the greatest profession. There is no greater honor.
As I now become a part of the rich history of law enforcement, please remember me always for I have left behind those who loved and depended upon me.
My partners and my agency, please remember my family, their loss, and don’t let time soften your compassion for them.
You guard the gate now and I will continue my watch from above.
MAY YOU REST IN PEACE AND MAY YOUR FAMILY FIND COMFORT IN THE GOOD YOU HAVE DONE HERE ON EARTH.
