Reflections for Detective Henry E. Cleveland
Rest in peace always knowing that your service and sacrifice will never, ever be forgotten by your law enforcement brethren.

I am currently reading Holloway's Raiders by Captain E.R. Walt. Just finished the section where Detective Cleveland was murdered and aftermath of the trial. I am glad that his story and circumstances surrounding his death are being told.
To his descendants, God sped. Proud of the men who preceded me in this law enforcement calling. Despite the same name, I do not believe I am related to Detective Holloway, however, I would be proud to walk with men like him and Detective Cleveland.
Stay healthy,
-John

My dad Raymond L Chaffin was Detective Cleveland,s partner at this time and at the address when this shooting occured. He grieved for years after this tragic death and remained close friends with detective Cleveland's widow. It was just a few years later that Officer Wills was murdered and he was also a close friend of my dad's.
