Reflections for Police Officer James J. Choquette

As young boys growing up together and watching him giving it his all in whatever he did continued on into his adult years. Being a Boy Scout or just wrestling as boys do he was no quiter. I'm sorry I didn't get to ride with you at the 77th my friend. Guys like him are a rare friend to all.

This is just a note to let others know that Jim's memory is still very much alive in the minds of many of his ex-partners. Jim was the kind of guy that was always a huge presence no matter how many people where at a scene or in a room. He was always so much alive and full of life. Jim's sense of humor was great and his hand bone playing matched that of the locals. Jim had a big friendly personality. Word of Jim's death spread rapidly the day he died and it seemed impossible that someone so full of life could be gone.

Those of us that have spent many years with the LAPD have lost many partners over the years. It is never easy, but some are tougher than others to accept. Jim is one of the really tough ones.

To Jim's children, your dad was a great guy in a man's world. He was one of the best cops I have known and will always remain on my mind.

It really feels good to see that other people still think of our Daddy. Kimberly has one son, and Beth has two, which is ironic considering how much Daddy loved having girls. Both oldest sons carry the middle name of James. Kimberly's son has blonde hair. Beth's youngest son has reddish-brown hair and blue eyes. These are true Choquette traits. Funny, not a day goes by when we don't have at least a fleeting thought of Daddy, even after all of these years. We both know he's looking down at us with pride and is madly in love with his grandsons. Thanks for the reflections.

Jimmy too much time has passed and I still wear your eow braclet. Your were the best of the best and one thing I apreciated was the fact you treated us dumb rookies as equals till we got educated. Unlike other training ofcrs..
God Bless bro
