My friend Richard Chatburn,
I think of you often around Sept when you gave your life for the great city of Kansas City. I along with PO Billy Reed, Richard Hodel, Sgt. John Bartlett were with you at 4400 Truman Road, not 2200 Truman Road. Rest in peace my friend. You are not forgotten.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 50th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. You will always be remembered and revered.
