Clearly the Constable encountered the worst type of criminal--one who placed no value on human life. He didn't want to get away (he could've walked away after the first shot) but instead, he wanted to kill a police officer. A sad day in the history of the Tulare Police Department.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 91rst anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Rest In Peace

Rest in peace old warrior. Although separated by generations, I'm proud that we both had the honor of patrolling the streets of Tulare during different eras.
