My grandmothers name is Rilla Carringer and my Dad, Willard Waldroup was born in Murphy. I believe Chief Carringer is the son of my great uncle. I am proud to be related. RIP Chief.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

To the friends and family of Chief Carringer,

Your father, brother, uncle, friend and husband is in Heaven, walking with the Lord. Celebrate his life and contributions to it. Forgive his transgressions and allow any wounds to heal.

I did not know Chief Carringer. But one day I'll hopefully meet him in person and we'll share stories, memories and reflect on his life. All the while, honoring all of you.

May God, through His son Jesus, allow all of you to heal and remember Chief Carringer in a joyous way.

I stop by this website often after the death of two dear friends with the NCSHP (Troopers Calvin Taylor E.O.W. October 3, 2001 and Anthony Cogdill E.O.W. May 30, 2003).

We all grieve over the lives lost in the line of duty. I hope you can find some comfort knowing that there are countless prayers that go out for your family.

These are senseless tragedies that never seem to stop. God Bless the men and women who continue to serve their communities in our great Nation.

As an officer with the Town of Murphy Police Department, I must say that it saddness me to think that one of our officer's had been killed in the line of duty. This just shows all of us that it can happen to anyone of us at any place, and at any given time. I must admit I did not know Chief Carringer, however I have now got to know his son, John. I must say if you are of the same stature as your father, he must have been a great man. On behalf of the Town of Murphy Police Department I would like to say that we are very proud of Chief Carringer and our thoughts and prayers are with you.
