Thank you, to all the people, who have posted on this site... It means so much, to me and my family... God bless you all, especially anyone who took the time and effort, to post on this site.
I thank all of you, for never forgetting my dad... I was only 9, when he was murdered, but I still remember, the block parties, on Kalisher street, and him building the flatbottom boat, in the garage, which I still have today,,, It's called, Locrotch... The name my dad's buddies gave him. And daddy would be happy to report, it's bad ass...
So, I thank all of you, who have never forgotten him... Blue lives matter!!!

I was working CHP SLA at the time of your untimely death You will never be forgotten and we in law enforcement will always keep you in our hearts and minds. It’s 47 years since we lost you. As other entries have said, I also wish your family has had a life that they deserve. Being without a husband and your children without a father had to be a terrible ordeal. I know how tough the streets were back then and I understand your love for your family and fellow officers. My son spent four years in LAPD before moving north and he also wants to thank you for your service. Semper Fi and May God bless you and your family. We are so sorry for your families loss.

Chuck was a good friend to my dad and me. He would let me sit on his motor unit when he stopped by the house on rayen street. My dad claims he introduced him to his wife. He was a real easy going and nice guy. I have never forgotten him or his kindness.

I witnessed the shooting, ran to Officer Caraccilo, held him in my arms and was about to give him mouth to mouth restoration when he took his last breath and died in my arms. I will never forget how hard he fought to stay alive and how bad I felt that I could not save him. To this day I can't stop thinking about him.
Years ago I attempted to get in touch with his family but no luck.
If anyone knows the family please tell them how sorry I was/am for their loss. Dwight

I was 12 years old and lived a block from where Officer Caraccilo was shot on that terrible day. I have never forgotten this tragedy and the family of this officer has been in my thoughts and prayers since then.

Almost 39 years since Chuck has been gone. I rode motors with him on a valley task force of about 21 or so motor officers. Most of us were on duty the night he was killed. He was one of the nicest guys you would ever want to know and I have never forgotten him.

Chuck..you were my fourth LAPD funeral, but you were the first Policeman, Motor Officer that I observed at the scene. We were not close friends, I had a total of 27 months, including the academy. I was a slick sleeve. But I remember you..you would always answer me, when I greeted you, in the hallway or roll call. We worked Van Nuys Div, we didn't work Traffic Divisions yet, and all of us, patrol, traffic..Motors, attended the same roll call. What a salty group you guys were! How I envied you, how much I wanted to be on motors. Well Chuck I finally aspired to being a Motor Officer, after ten years on the job. I retired with 37 years, four years ago, but whenever us 'older' motor cops get together and tell war stories, your name always comes up! God Bless you Chuck, and I hope to see you once again, in the future. Keep those streets safe!
