Sergeant Grant Candies, today we honor you as you take your final 10-42, 10-7. Your dedication to the badge, your community, and your brothers and sisters in law enforcement will never be forgotten. You answered the call, day in and day out, not for recognition, but because you believed in protecting and serving. You stood on the thin blue line with courage, integrity, and honor. The sacrifice you made is one no one can ever repay, but we will remember you—today and always. Your legacy lives on through every life you touched, every call you answered, and every act of kindness and bravery you showed during your watch. Rest easy, Sergeant. We’ve got the watch from here. Until we meet again, sir. You are never alone, never forgotten. End of watch, March 23, 2025.

Heavenly Father, no law enforcement officer leaves home without the fear of not returning at the end of the watch. It is a fear that is lived daily. Unfortunately, the worst does sometimes come to pass, and lives are left shattered. O merciful Lord, bless and keep the hearts and souls of those who have lost loved ones in the line of duty. Wipe away the tears from their eyes. Soothe their pain and bind up their wounds through the wounds of Your beloved Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
Scriptures of Comfort and Hope:
"Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom will I send? Who will go for us?" I said, "Here I am. Send me!" (Isaiah 6:8 GW)
"Even though I walk through the dark valley of death, because you are with me, I fear no harm. Your rod and your staff give me courage." (Psalm 23:4 GW)
"The greatest love you can show is to give your life for your friends." (John 15:13 GW)
"Blessed are those who mourn. They will be comforted." (Matthew 5:4 GW)
