Reflections for Sergeant Grant Candies

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

We were talking about you again today.
Everyone in the agency is so sad and the mood is dark .
You had such an impact on so many as an officer and just as a good human being.
You always made time to talk or smile or say hi. I would talk to you most when you came into the jail and if we needed hospital coverage you helped if you could.
I can vividly see your unusual walk and cheeky smile……it’s all so hard to process.
You of course are a hero
