Reflections for Correction Officer Andrew Lansing

Heavenly Father, You are always faithful and quick to show mercy. Our Brother-in-Blue, Correction Officer Andrew Lansing of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, was suddenly and violently taken from us; Murdered in the Line-of-Duty. Come swiftly to his aid, have mercy on him, and comfort his family, friends, and colleagues by the power and protection of the cross. I ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, and by His authority. Amen.

God's Mission for America's Peace Officers:

"For the policeman does not frighten people who are doing right; but those doing evil will always fear him. So if you don't want to be afraid, keep the laws and you will get along well. The policeman is sent by God to help you. But if you are doing something wrong, of course you should be afraid, for he will have you punished. He is sent by God for that very purpose." (Romans 13: 3-4 TLB)

God's Word of Support, Comfort, and Hope from The Law Enforcement Officer's Bible:

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God."
(Matthew 5:9 CSB);

"Then I heard the voice of the Lord asking: Who will I send? Who will go for us? I said: Here I am. Send me." (Isaiah 6:8 CSB);

"No one has greater love than this: to lay down his life for his friends."
(John 15:13 CSB), and;

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." (Matthew 5:4 CSB).

Mr. Lansing! You my friend were such an inspiration and such a joy to have around. I’ve only been in Corrections for about three years and I can proudly say you were my favorite man to work my over time with. The nights went so fast with you because you were always so d@#^ funny and I loved being around you!!I loved hearing about your kids and your wife and I always told you that if only I had a father like you…I’m so Blessed to have known you... You’re loved by so many!! RCI will not be the same without you. RIP

To Andy's family,

Please accept my sincere condolences and prayers. Andy was one of the best officers at RCI. It was a privilege to serve with him. His professional life was in service to his country and the citizens of Ohio. I spoke with him before he left to serve in Iraq and he shared with me that he was going there in order to provide for his family. Everything Andy did was with that consideration at the forefront. His love for you was evident.
