Reflections for Police Officer Michael Horan

Mike,

I can’t believe you’re gone. Getting that call this morning was surreal. You held a life experience that most could only dream of. You were an inspiration to everyone that met you. You absolutely adored your daughter and took every opportunity to express how proud of her you were. But above all was your absolute servant’s heart and how desperately you wanted to use your talents to the greatest extent you could so that you could help others. You were the best of us, and while I hate this was the ending God had for you, I’m incredibly grateful that I was allowed the honor of knowing you and calling you friend. Rest easy, you accomplished more than most could imagine. We have it from here, brother.

We are more Grateful than words can express for Officer Horan's calling to stand between us and danger. Lord bring easement of mind and calmness of heart to his Wife, Children, Family and Friends in these difficult days to come. This Blue Line is very thin. God Bless All that walk it.

Heavenly Father, You are always faithful and quick to show mercy. Our Brother-in-Blue, Police Officer Michael Horan of the Greensboro NC Police Department, was suddenly and violently taken from us; Shot & Killed in the Line-of-Duty. Come swiftly to his aid, have mercy on him, and comfort his family, friends, and colleagues by the power and protection of the cross. I ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, and by His authority. Amen.

God's Mission for America's Peace Officers:

"For the policeman does not frighten people who are doing right; but those doing evil will always fear him. So if you don't want to be afraid, keep the laws and you will get along well. The policeman is sent by God to help you. But if you are doing something wrong, of course you should be afraid, for he will have you punished. He is sent by God for that very purpose." (Romans 13: 3-4 TLB)

God's Word of Support, Comfort, and Hope:

"Blessed are those who make peace. They will be called God's children."
(Matthew 5:9 GW);

"Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, "Whom will I send? Who will go for us?" I said, "Here I am. Send me!" (Isaiah 6:8 GW);

"The greatest love you can show is to give your life for your friends."
(John 15:13 GW), and;

"Blessed are those who mourn. They will be comforted." (Matthew 5:4 GW).
