Assistant SAIC Love, a police officer should be remembered not by how he died but by how he lived! A brave man has left to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you for your 32 years of commitment to law enforcement, your family, and HSI-ICE. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace, Brother!

Heavenly Father, Assistant Special Agent in Charge Joseph Love, of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement Department of Homeland Security, died as the result of cancer that he developed following his assignment to the search and recovery efforts at the site of the World Trade Center, New York City, following the Terrorist Attacks of September 11, 2001.

Most faithful God, lively is the courage of those who hope in You. Your servant, Assistant Special Agent in Charge Joseph Love, suffered greatly but placed his trust in Your mercy. Confident that the petition of those who mourn pierces the clouds and finds an answer, I beg You, give him rest. Do not remember his sins but look upon his sufferings and grant him refreshment, light and peace. I pray this through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, and by His authority. Amen.

Scripture Verse Identifying God's Mission for America's Peace Officers:

"For the policeman [peace officer] does not frighten people who are doing right; but those doing evil will always fear him [her]. So if you don't want to be afraid, keep the laws and you will get along well. The policeman [peace officer] is sent by God to help you. But if you are doing something wrong, of course you should be afraid, for he [she] will have you punished. He [She] is sent by God for that very purpose." (Romans 13:3-4 TLB)

Scripture Verses of Hope, Support, and Comfort:

"Blessed are those who make peace. They will be called God's children." (Matthew 5:9 GW);

"Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, "Whom will I send? Who will go for us?" I said, "Here I am. Send me!" (Isaiah 5:8 GW);

"The greatest love you can show is to give your life for your friends." (John 15:13 GW);

"Jesus said to him, "I can guarantee this truth: Today you will be with me in paradise." (Luke 23:43 GW), and;

"Blessed are those who mourn. They will be comforted." (Matthew 5:4 GW).
