Reflections for Police Officer Cooper Dawson

Cooper,

We are taking care of Aubrey and your babies. You would be soo dang proud of Aubrey, she is so strong and brave. P Shuggie continues to grow and look just like you. Kody is on the move and looking more and more like Dad. Ayden is growing over night, it seems like. He looks like a totally different kid. We've got it covered. This past weekend you got the SPARTAN AWARD, how badass, I just know you would have loved it. You are continuing to inspire people to train and be better, and we continue to honor you every day.

We miss you something terrible. But we are still, so proud of you.

I was your 2nd phase FTO at Garland PD. You were in the top 5% of all rookies I trained for rarely making the same mistake twice. Super impressive, and you were only 21 years old at that time. Just a kid. We had good times talking about our small world M4 connection, and our passion for motorcycles during that training phase. Your dedication to suppressing crime and the fear of crime was impressive. Overwatch Peer Support has been here for your friends and family. We all miss you so much.

You were my first rookie. I helped train you and at the end of first phase I knew you were something special. We became brothers and our families vacationed together. Love ya homie. Warriors Promise

One week ago I carried a warrior. That warrior was my friend.

Always knowing the reality of the job, but when the news came, we never imagined that it would be my brother, my warrior friend.

Tears flowed the day we heard the news; anger soon followed leaving us without a clue on what to do.

You leave behind a legacy in your short time, rest easy my friend, the watch is now mine.

It was my honor to carry my warrior friend, now that warrior carries me.

Thoughts of his heroism and bravery now ignite the flame of justice eternally.

We lost a warrior, I lost my friend, but hear me brethren, hear me warriors, pick up and carry on; the mission and calling are still at hand.
One last salute as you’re lowered into the ground, I’ll keep pushing forward until Gods trumpet sounds.

And until that time comes, and we get to meet again, I’ll always honor the life of my brother, the legacy of my warrior friend.

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

What a contribution to our country, to serve and protect locally and abroad. This country is too lenient. We need to bring back the death penalty by electric chair within 40 days of conviction.

Officer Dawson, our world is full of evil people, and yet, for many years, you dedicated your life to protecting others that they may be safe. Our Lord, who sees all and knows all, will reward you abundantly for your courage, dedication and selfless service. My heart breaks for the sorrow that your loved ones are experiencing.
