Officer McNew. What can I say about you brother. You were truly one of a kind. Everyone at work either knew you, or knew of you. You were dedicated to this job and lived with a passion that showed it. My first day assigned to the 5th floor you were one of the first officers I met on my new squad. You definitely taught me a thing or 2 that I didn’t learn while I was on FTO and I was thankful for that. It didn’t matter where they put you in the jail you knew the position front and back.
Thank you for all the memories and for the 24 years of service that you gave to the citizens of Jacksonville. Not only were you a CO, but you were a dual certified one as well. You got the job done. All in all you were a good man with a good heart for those who were in trouble and it showed in this case. Rest easy brother. Your wife and son are in our prayers. May your legacy and dedication to this life of service be remembered well.
