Reflections for Motor Carrier Officer Daniel Kerstetter

Officer Kerstetter,

I'm so sorry to learn of your tragic loss. Far too many law enforcement officers lose their lives by being struck by careless motorists. I will pray for your wife and three children, as well as your friends, loved ones and colleagues. Rest in peace.

Rest in Peace brother and watch over us. We will protect and serve from here on in your honor.

I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, but tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.

My feeble attempt of words to comfort are just that. May our Lord surround Officer Kerstetter's Wife and Children, Family, Fellow Officers and Friends with easement of mind and calmness of heart in days to come. He protected us by standing between us and danger. The Blue Line is very thin. God Bless you all.

Over the course of my 25 odd years driving big rigs, I was slowly but surely won over by Motor Carrier Officers for the immensely important and necessary work that they do. Much respect!!! To lose one like this really cuts. These officers are too unsung, for sure, but they are heroes in their dedication and hard work toward safer trucks on our highways and as a trucking insider I guarantee they are saving lives more than the public could ever guess. Gone, but never forgotten.
