God rest your soul, Correctional Officer Miller. May your family, friends, colleagues, and community find the strength and resolve to carry on in your physical absence and continue to spread the goodness to which you were so selflessly committed. Corrections Officer Hunter, a corrections officer should be remembered not by how he died but by how he lived! A brave man has left to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you for your 2 years of commitment to corrections service, your family, and the Kentucky Department of Corrections. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace, Brother!

Heavenly Father, You are Compassionate and Merciful. None of America’s Peace Officers leave home without the fear of not returning at the end of their watch. It is a fear that is lived daily. Unfortunately, the worst does sometimes come to pass, and lives are left shattered. Lord God, bless and keep the hearts and souls of those who have lost loved ones in the line of duty. Wipe away the tears from their eyes. Soothe their pain and bind up their emotional wounds through the wounds of Your beloved Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. In His name, and by His Authority, I pray. Amen.

Holy Scripture Verses of Hope and Comfort found in 'The Law Enforcement Officer's Bible:

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons [children] of God.” [Matthew 5:9 CSB]

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord asking: Who will I send? Who will go for us? I said: Here I am. Send me.” [Isaiah 6:8 CSB]

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." [Matthew 5:4 CSB]
