Lord Jesus Christ, as I watch America's Peace Officers bravely succumb to the wicked and evil in this world, it becomes increasingly difficult for us to pick up and move forward. Our broken communities are on the brink of exploding with tension, violence, and lawlessness. In light of the American Peace Officers who are no longer with us, I pray for endurance for our communities and law enforcement agencies. Lord Jesus, carry us through these difficult times of uncontrollable violence and strife, that through our struggles, our bonds may grow even more unbreakable. In Your mighty and holy Name, and by Your authority, I pray. Amen.
Holy Scripture Verses of Comfort and Hope from 'The Law Enforcement Officer's Bible':
"Then I heard the voice of the Lord asking: Who will I send? Who will go for us? I said: Here I am. Send me." [Isaiah 6:8 CSB]
"No one has greater love than this: to lay down his life for his friends." [John 15:13 CSB]
God's Mission for America's Peace Officers:
"For the policeman does not frighten people who are doing right; but those doing evil will always fear him. So if you don’t want to be afraid, keep the laws and you will get along well. The policeman is sent by God to help you. But if you are doing something wrong, of course you should be afraid, for he will have you punished. He is sent by God for that very purpose. Obey the laws, then, for two reasons: first, to keep from being punished, and second, just because you know you should." [Romans 13:3-5 TLB]

Master Deputy Sheriff Link, a police officer should be remembered not by how he died but by how he lived! A brave man has left to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you for your military service and 6 1/2 years of commitment to law enforcement service, your family, and the Lake County Sheriff's Office. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace, Brother!
