The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

As a police officer myself as well as a resident of the city of Vacaville, the loss of Officer Bowen cuts deep. I had the honor of attending Matthew’s service and participating in the procession through our city. It was surreal to drive those roads I drive most days and see the city from such a different perspective. The support that was shown by the community and a host of other agencies was a sight to be seen.

I pray for the healing of Matthew’s family and for the healing of his brothers and sisters in the Vacaville and Concord Police Departments. I pray for the repentance of the woman who stole Matthew away, that she may face Your judgement. I pray for the continued support of the community for our law enforcement profession. I ask these things, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
