Lord Jesus Christ, as I watch America's Peace Officers bravely succumb to the wicked and evil in this broken world, it becomes difficult for us to pick up and move forward. Our communities are on the brink of exploding with tension and deadly violence. In light of the American Peace Officers who are no longer with us, I pray for endurance for our communities and law enforcement agencies. Carry us through this time of strife and grief, that through our struggles, our bonds may grow even more unbreakable. In Your mighty and holy Name, and by Your authority, I pray. Amen.

A Holy Scripture Verse of Praise and Comfort from the Law Enforcement Officer's Bible:

"No one has greater love than this: to lay down his life for his friends." [John 15:13 CSB]

Your brave contribution goes unnoticed. The undoubtful sacrifice you made to make sure your partner went home shows a true hero, that walked straight into the face of danger so that the community can sleep well. You did what God called you to do. To all the brothers in blue. Watch over the brave ones who sacrifice their life to make sure everyone sleeps at night. Although you didn’t make it home, but you sure did go down without a fight. Forever in our hearts and minds. Rest well my friend. We have the watch from here

Sheriff Butler, our world is full of evil people, and yet, for many years, you dedicated your life to protecting others that they may be safe. Our Lord, who sees all and knows all, will reward you abundantly for your courage, dedication and selfless service. My heart breaks for the sorrow that your loved ones are experiencing. May God immerse you and them in His Divine Mercy. Rest in peace, good and faithful servant.

Deputy Sheriff Butler, a police officer should be remembered not by how he died but by how he lived! A brave man has left to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you for your military service and 12 years of commitment to law enforcement service, to your family, and to the Hillsdale County Sheriff's Office. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!
