Sgt. Miles not only had a passion for his community, but he had a passion for our community, the law enforcement community. Sgt. Miles would never turn down an opportunity to go teach in the academy, passing down his years of knowledge and experience to new upcoming officers. Sgt. Miles, rest peacefully in paradise, we have the watch.

Sergeant Miles, a police officer should be remembered not by how he died but by how he lived! A brave man has left to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you for your military and 16 years of commitment to law enforcement service, to your family, and to the Charles City County Sheriff's Office. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!
