My condolences to the family, fellow officers and community of Senior Police Officer Vicente Ortiz, Jr. I can't imagine a motorist not seeing the emergency lights, activated on a Police motorcycle. Having been in that position myself, it still boggles my mind. An officer should have that added security, being on a marked unit. The general public has to do it's part in ensuring emergency vehicles have the road. This literally takes only a few seconds of time. Knowing how avoidable this tragedy was, tugs at my heart strings. God bless your memory and we honor you for your service.
