Reflections for Deputy U.S. Marshal Thomas M. Weeks

Over my 35 year career with Detroit PD and Miami-Dade PD, I have lost 21 brothers and sisters, including 2 previously with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Taskforce in Miami. I am heart broken at these most recent deaths, but realize that they were warriors who died protecting American society. God bless them all.

Tommy, my brother, you will always be my hero. You were what every man and every cop should aim to be… family first, you’d give a stranger the shirt off your back without thinking twice, bled blue, and loved deeply.

We lost a hero this week. We’re worse off for it. Charlotte lost a lion and America lost a hero.

Im grateful to have known you, learned from you, and be infected by your love of humanity and passion for service.

You and your brothers and sisters suited up everyday to go to work, serve your country, and make your community better, knowing the risk you were taking. I’m grateful for you. God bless you, the USMS, and the USA.

I love you brother.

DS Agent, former USMS

Marshal Weeks,

I'm saddened to learn of this terrible tragedy. This has been a horrible month for law enforcement in our nation. We have lost far too many law enforcement officials to violence and senseless accidents. I will pray for your wife and children, as well as all your friends, loved ones, family and colleagues. Rest in peace.

Greater love has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends. - John 15:13
