The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

You put on the badge everyday knowing someone wants to hurt you. You were brave and a hero. Now your family grieves but the nation grieves also for the loss of a wonderful person who wore the badge.

Farewell my good friend. You'll be missed but never forgotten. Never once was I worried with you having my six. I wish I was there to have yours the other day. But I'll see you again my brother. Soar with the angels Tommy.

"Somebody killed a policeman today,
And a part of America died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect
Will be buried with him at his side.
The suspect who shot him will stand up in court,
With counsel demanding his rights,
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids
And spend alone many long nights.
The beat that he walked was a battlefield, too,
Just as if he'd gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast,
To his name they will add a gold star.
Yes, somebody killed a policeman today,
It happened in your town or mine.
While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors,
A cop put his life on the line.
Now, his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street,
And he stands at each new rookie's side.
He answered the call and gave us his all,
And a part of America died."

Farewell my friend. You'll be missed but never forgotten. From the first time we first shook hands till the day that we brotherly hugged as we went out own ways. I'll cherish our memories and those moments ( the ones that you and I know) but mostly thank you as I was always at peace that you had my six. Rest in peace my friend and know that the good work you've done is to be carried on. Soar with the angels buddy.

My brother, I am so sorry to hear this news. It breaks my heart to know we lost 4 LEO's, one really hitting home for me since DUSM Weeks was from my agency. There is nothing anyone can say to the family of all the LEO's, but know you are in my thoughts and prayers, and I pray God gives you the strength to get through this very difficult time. May the USMS family wrap their arms around you. RIP DUSM Weeks.
