Reflections for Police Officer Luis M. Huesca
As a native of Chicago, am deeply saddened about what happened to you. What u had to go thru in your last hr here. I have so much respect for your service and what you did to try to make the city a better and safer place. You didn't deserve to die the way u did. You are wrapped in the arms of the Lord now. May God give your soul peace. I pray for peace for your surviving loved ones.

I think it’s extremely brave and courageous to still respond to a call while you just finished up your shift. I can only begin to have an idea about what the family was feeling my prayers are with them. It just shows that as someone new into law enforcement that I have big shoes to fill and a legacy to live up to bigger something bigger than myself

Officer Huesca, I just read about how brutally you were murdered. It’s absolutely heartbreaking. You were a good man, a young man, just going home after a shift at work. You deserved to have a peaceful rest at home, but that opportunity was taken away from you forever. I am so sorry

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.
There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.
