Reflections for Police Officer Luis M. Huesca

I think it’s extremely brave and courageous to still respond to a call while you just finished up your shift. I can only begin to have an idea about what the family was feeling my prayers are with them. It just shows that as someone new into law enforcement that I have big shoes to fill and a legacy to live up to bigger something bigger than myself

Officer Huesca, I just read about how brutally you were murdered. It’s absolutely heartbreaking. You were a good man, a young man, just going home after a shift at work. You deserved to have a peaceful rest at home, but that opportunity was taken away from you forever. I am so sorry

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.
