Today we prepare for your service. You have inspired so many in your short life. Hearing the story of your life and how you lifted others in every aspect of your fiber. Your strong Christian beliefs, strong family ties and exemplary law enforcement career will be your mark on this world. Praying for your beautiful wife and your baby who is on its way.

Tobin,
I can't believe you're gone. It's been one week since you were shot. This week has been rough, thinking of you and Abbey almost every second of the day. We all miss you, but we know where you are. You placed your trust in Jesus Christ, as many of us have, and we have hope because of Him. You are in a better place now and will be there forever worshiping the Father. I pray that everyone who hears your name will first know how you devoted your life to your family and your relationship with God. God uses tragedy to further His kingdom, and I know this will not be the exception. We have seen so many stories of salvation and things to rejoice over because of your passing. You spent your life spreading the Gospel and being a light in God's kingdom. We will meet again, and until that time, we will continue to honor God and you, spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As the public support begins to fade away, know that your church family will always be there to support your Earthly family. I love you, brother. Until we meet again...

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

"Somebody killed a policeman today,
And a part of America died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect
Will be buried with him at his side.
The suspect who shot him will stand up in court,
With counsel demanding his rights,
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids
And spend alone many long nights.
The beat that he walked was a battlefield, too,
Just as if he'd gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast,
To his name they will add a gold star.
Yes, somebody killed a policeman today,
It happened in your town or mine.
While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors,
A cop put his life on the line.
Now, his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street,
And he stands at each new rookie's side.
He answered the call and gave us his all,
And a part of America died."
