Adam, you came to TPD shortly after I retired but it sounds like you had an excellent reputation and work ethic. I’m sorry we missed each other and didn’t get to work together. Thank you for carrying the torch and being someone my brothers and sisters in blue there could count on. May you rest in peace and may your family find comfort knowing you were doing what you clearly loved when it was your time. My heart breaks for my TPD family… I think of you all everyday.

I was working last night. I had just finished booking my arrestees in, when I heard something on the radio that made my hair stand on end. Something about a procession to the medical examiner's office. I tried to push it aside and convince myself it was nothing. The thought of losing a brother was too hard to stomach.

But after I checked my MDC, my heart sank. A line of duty death from TPD. It had been years since we lost Erik Hite, and I had hoped that we'd never see another.

I'm devastated, and I'm sorry that I wasn't able to join in the procession. My heart goes out to all my brothers and sisters at the Tucson Police Department.
