Officer Hare,
being as nice as you, as compassionate as you, as caring as you has become increasingly dangerous in the profession you worked in with all your heart, soul, sweat and blood.
You last act on this earth was to offer a man in need your help. It reflects how much of a caring man and good officer you were.
Your sacrifice will never be forgotten, your life forever honoured and your death forever mourned.
Rest easy Officer and thank you so much, for your efforts and your service!

I hope and Pray you find a World that treats you better than the one you left. May your family find peace in the memories you leave them and the knowledge you were a hero every time you put the uniform on.
God Bless you. My heart goes out to your family and fellow Officers.

Thank you for being the shining star of the perfect Police Officer. Caring for your fellow man, stopping to give aid to those who may need it. This world was never meant for those as beautiful as you, to paraphrase Don McClean. Your children I'm sure know that you are an absolute hero.

I hope your children 1 day know how brave you were. What a cowardly senseless act of violence.
My commiserations to your GF and your whole family. Much love from the Cotswolds England. J.P.South.

Thank you for making the ultimate sacrifice, Sir. I do not wish your profession on anyone, only truly the strongest, bravest, kind, caring individuals can do what you men and women do. This war on Police NEEDS TO STOP. God bless you, God bless your family, God bless your brothers and sisters in Blue.

watching the video and reading everything that happened takes me back to my best friend taken away too soon from random violence and he also too had a military/law enforcement background and would be the last person you’d expect and was one of the best people.. i know too officer Hare was probably the best friend and an amazing person to those around him that could never be replaced. it hurts my heart thinking about how such great people- the best ones we’ve ever met are taken so soon. my heart goes out to you and your friends an family always. you are gone but never forgotten

Rest in peace, brother. I know we hadn't talked since we were in school together, playing on basketball teams. I never got the honor to work with you, but you were a great man and a great officer. Your presence will be missed, and there is now a hole in everyone's heart who knew you. God bless.

My brother rest in peace! I am glad to have shared all the laughs and triumphs with you throughout the beginning of my career with New Mexico State Police you showed me what it is to be patient and dedicated every time we worked together. I truly feel blessed to have shared my time and memories with you.
I remember the times we went to calls together and many welfare checks and public assists and seeing how you went out of your way every time to help people using your own tools, I will truly cherish all the memories we had together including the ones were we would go spend time together eating breakfast, lunch or dinner during our shift together .
I am glad to have shared a hug together before I went to a different assignment. Justin you went above and beyond and were a loving family man and dedicated State Police Officer I truly believe you were an angel sent from heaven to make an impact on all of our lives! Thank you conejo

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.
There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

We know from the Holy Scriptures that Peace Officers have a sacred task to enforce the laws of the land to protect the innocent and punish the guilty:
"For the policeman [Peace Officer] does not frighten people who are doing right; but those doing evil will always fear him [her]. So, if you don't want to be afraid, keep the laws and you will get along well. The policeman [Peace Officer] is sent by God to help you. But if you are doing something wrong, of course you should be afraid, for he [she] will have you punished. He [She] is sent by God for that very purpose. Obey the laws, then, for two reasons: first, to keep from being punished, and second, just because you know you should." [Romans 13: 3-5 TLB]

When I looked at this story I realise this could have been anybody who wears the badge, who answers the calls for service or just simply in this case a welfare check. I feel deep sadness for the family’s of both first responders killed on and off duty and I wish and hope they can recover from this kind of horrific situation. Sending warm prayers to the agency and the family’s
