On behalf of the Ohio Attorneys General Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation, our thoughts and prayers are with the immediate family of Police Officer Anthony Francone and the extended law enforcement family of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribal Police Department, Tribal Police.
End of Watch Friday, August 25, 2023.
Rest in Peace brother and watch over us. We will protect and serve from here on in your honor.
I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, but tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.

Anthony and I worked together while being employed as Delivery Sheriffs with the Storey County Sheriff’s Office. There will be a lot of praise and accolades about his service to the public and his duty and dedication to them as well….however, my former colleague and friend was the absolute amazing father to his children, Jonathan and Katie and who is a true inspiration to us all as she has survived the disabilities that have plagued her whole life. Jonathan, along with Katie and their Mom, Kristen, and their step father and his daughter, were all victims of a horrific traffic accident a few years ago…Anthony called to tell me the awful news which tragically claimed the life the other little girl in that vehicle and he immediately dropped every to race to Portland, Oregon to be with his children. Katie was critically injured but Jonathan was not expected to survive the accident. Yet because of Anthony and his love and devotion to his beloved children, I truly believe to this day that he willed both Katie and Jonathan to survive their injuries and continue with the positive path of life that their father gave them…their true warrior spirit lives on with Katie and Jonathan….a testimony to my friend and former colleague whose loss to the people of this state and country is devastating. Anthony, until we see each other again in a far better place, you are 10-42….we have it from here, brother!

My condolences to the family and friends Officer Francone. All it takes is one irresponsible person. The individual need to be held accountable. Killing an officer in the line of duty is beyond comprehension for me. I would like to continue further, but my professionalism prevents me from venting any further. I hope the pain get tiny bit better everyday. We will never forget.

I’m so sorry for the loss to the Francone family. I’m thankful that before he passed, he was able to continue protecting us all by eliminating the threat someone else would have inevitably faced. I know that my prayers will never assuage the feelings of grief and sadness the Francone family is feeling. However, know that Heaven is a brighter place today with Anthony in it.
