Officer Francone,

Anthony, you will always be in my heart, my brother. I will forever cherish the laughs we shared at the Sheriffs Office. It weakens my heart for this tragedy to have happened. My heart goes out to your family and three kids knowing how hard it is for them to lose their father. I know you are looking down on us now and will guide us from now on with your helping hand. We will miss you brother. Much love.

Lord God of unfailing love, to those families in our beloved nation, the United States of America, who are suffering in the wake of the loss of a law enforcement family member, help us to provide support. Allow us to be their rock and fortress in a time of immense pain and uncertainty. Help us to keep them safe and nourished in their time of grief, suffering beside them as we move toward healing and reconciliation. Lord God, in Your compassionate mercy, hear my prayer. In Christ Jesus, Your beloved Son, and by His authority, I pray. Amen.

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

There needs to be a better way of deploying spike strips this is at least the second officer this year lost. Master Trooper James Bailey of the Indiana State police died the same way on March 3.

Anth - My blue blood sibling- because our dads were partners in LE all of our childhood days. I never let you forget that I had the honor of being your very first friend from a countless list of others, because my dad took me to the hospital nursery to meet you the day after you were born. I clearly remember walking up those steps & looking into the glass window while the nurse held you up & I waved at you. After years of battling over Tonka trucks or roller skating, we finally learned how to compromise in what activity we would plan next. I left Ely first, but you never missed writing me a monthly letter which I so looked forward to receiving in my college apartment mailbox. Then of course, came the later years of a different friendship where we supported each other through the hardships of life, such as divorces, job changes, raising kids (thank you for teaching E to freeway drive), medical battles, and of course, the beautiful gift of Katie. That night we were with her in the trauma center, we kneeled & prayed together & for our joined faith we witnessed a miracle! I know you are out there watching over her & all our kids. Can you please also watch over my nephews @ Metro, keep them safe on duty. I will see you on the other side of that glass nursery again soon my friend. Until then, I will miss you much. Love you, Anth!

Anthony. Where do I start my friend. You were more than just a coworker, you are my brother. I'm gonna miss our Sunday work lunches, our long conversations about life, our daily texts, the practical jokes, the laughter and all the good times we shared. I always appreciated your professionalism towards the general public and the genuine empathy you showed on a daily basis. If I made a traffic stop and I was "Code 4", you always seemed to drive by or stop out with me just to make sure I was okay. I know I have learned a lot from you and I know I'm not the only one. You loved the job and you loved your family. August 25th, 2023 is a day I will never forget. Once I heard that radio traffic, my heart sank and I couldn't make my car drive fast enough to get to you. You will forever be in my heart! Miss you brother!!!

Bub,
There are no words to describe how much I miss you. You consume my thoughts from the moment I wake up until the moment I fall asleep. I am so sorry this happened to you. You and the kids deserved better. I promise to watch over them and take care of them just like we talked about. I promise they will never forget how wonderful you are or the sacrifice you made. I hope I’m making you proud. Please rest easy and know that I’ve got you.

I love you,
Sissy

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died but by how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you for your law enforcement service, to your family, and to the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribal Police Department. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!
