Rutland City is an idyllic New England town where we would not expect something like this to happen. It is so hard to find an enthusiastic and qualified young person who wants to join our team and to lose one is so tragic! I fear further tragedy for her family by the Vermont lack of justice system where the police possibly be made to apologize to the felon and he will walk away with traffic violations. I hope her supporters will fight hard for justice for young Jessica and her family!

A police officer should be remembered not by how she died but by how she lived! A great woman has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family, and the Rutland City Police Department. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Sister!
