Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Brett Harris

Its been over a year without you and I've kept you close in my heart. Close enough to have changed my whole life and follow in your example of service and become a local LEO. I miss hearing your voice late at night gaming and how you lit up the call whenever you joined. Rest in peace brother and trust that we will keep your watch.

Lord God of unfailing love, to those families in our beloved nation, the United States of America, who are suffering in the wake of the loss of a law enforcement family member, help us to provide support. Allow us to be their rock and fortress in a time of immense pain and uncertainty. Help us to keep them safe and nourished in their time of grief, suffering beside them as we move toward healing and reconciliation. Lord God, in Your compassionate mercy, hear my prayer. In Christ Jesus, Your beloved Son, and by His authority, I pray. Amen.

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

Thank you so much for your service, sir! You have always been a child of God, but now you get to sit by his side. You are an angel on earth as you will be in heaven. Although I know your duties were not always appreciated by some. They have always been appreciated by most. God bless you and your family and I pray you all find comfort.

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died but by how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family, and the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!
