On behalf of the 68 dedicated volunteers associated with POINT 27 across the United States, we would like to offer condolences for Police Officer Areanah M. Preston. Please know we are eternally grateful for Areanah’s service and her ultimate sacrifice.
To honor Police Officer Preston, POINT 27 sent 27 Thin Blue Line Dog Tag Necklaces, engraved with “Blessed are the Peacemakers for they will be called children of God” Matthew 5:9, to the Chaplin Bob Montelongo, Chicago Police Department in Chicago, Illinois for Areanah’s partner and fellow officers. POINT 27 also sent three Folded Flag Necklaces engraved with “Greater Love has no one than this; than to lay down one’s life for one’s friend” John 15:13 for Police Officer Areanah M. Preston’s mother, father, and twin sibling.
POINT 27 is a Non-Profit organization with a mission to strengthen and encourage members of the Armed Forces, First Responders, and their families, by sharing scripture on Dog Tags and Jewelry called Shields of Strength.
We will never forget and we are forever grateful.

For twenty years, Chicago was home. We lived in a near South suburb but were fortunate to conduct fruitful ministry in South Shore, Back of The Yards, Pilsen and West Englewood. We served some 15,000 full, hot meals streetside in these locations regardless the weather or other concerns. More than once, as a pastor and law enforcement chaplain, have I stood beside a police officer while trying to process the tragedy or violence in front of them. There's no virtue in recounting any of those scenarios, but I knew well the weight these men/women of law enforcement would have to carry while processing the tragedy they were called upon to administrate. On more than one occasion, a Chicago Police Officer would be parked close by shadowing us while we tried to make a difference. I was raised by a parent, also a pastor, who also had the highest regard for those in this profession and learned, from an early age, to show respect. Scripture is clear that 'the Powers that be are ordained of God.' When it comes to the loss of life for one of these servants, I know my words are inadequate. I don't have the adequate word to use to express my profound sorrow and respect. Thank you for your service. You really are earth's example of selfless service. We pray fof Officer Preston's family. I am a father of a 32 year-old beautiful woman. I can only imagine the extent of the family's pain and will add them to our daily prayer list. [email protected] / 708-705-7300

Lord Jesus, as we watch America’s Peace Officers succumb to the wicked and evil in this world, it becomes difficult for us to pick up and move forward. Our communities are on the brink of exploding with tension. In light of the peace officers who are no longer with us, I pray for endurance for our communities and law enforcement agencies. Carry us through this time of strife, that through our struggles, our bonds may grow even more unbreakable. In Your mighty and holy name, I pray. Amen.
“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” [Isaiah 6:8 ESV]

A police officer should be remembered not by how she died but by how she lived! A great woman has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family, and the Chicago Police Department. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Sister!

I feel really sorry. First one officer dead, now two. This is disgusting. Thank god the suspects were caught and arrested. They better be sentenced to DEATH. As a future Chicago police officer, this hits me hardest. Condolences to family, friends, and fellow officers. She is gone but not forgotten.
