Proudly mailed my NO PAROLE FOR COP KILLERS letter today. To the family, friends and colleagues of Officer Calabrese: I am so very sorry for your loss! I’ve read many of the personal reflections about this wonderful man “Uncle Sammy”. It’s so unfair that you have to relive your pain, with each new parole board hearing. To Officer Calabrese: Thank You for your service and sacrifice! You are a Forever HERO! God Bless You All

Sammy Calabrese was my good friend, partner, and a fine police officer. Not one single day goes by that I do not think of him. We had dinner together on Thursday night before he was killed on Tuesday. I also think of the dirtbag who killed him. He deserved to die but at the least, he needs to rot in jail.
Rest In Peace, my brother.

So many Police Officers attended PO. Calabrese's funeral is because he was so well known, and liked. His nickname on the Transit PD was "Uncle Sammy". He was highly intelligent, highly decorated, and a father figure to young police officers. His killer deserves to stay in prison, he was a career criminal, who had no regard for anyone; much less an Authority figure like a Police Officer.

It was my honor to research newspapers, books and magazines and finally find your ID Card Photo and make sure your photo was put on this site. I wanted to put a face to your heroism in the Line of Duty. I did the research because you are a brother officer and no matter how many years past, you will always be remembered. Rest Easy Hero.

I was older than you and I also went to Russell sage jr. High school as well as forest hills high school. I was closer in age to your brother ,Michael and I hope he is well in this holiday season.

I still can see you as our shortstop at P.S. 139 and at Russell Sage Junior High School. Sammy, you were a great athlete and a good friend and many of your friends still talk about how silky smooth you were at shortstop. We also lost class mates in the 9/11 terror attacks. May God be with you and your family.

I danced with The Devil last Wednesday Night, Sammy..... Not my night to join you, but by far, the closest I've come in the ten years working here.
You were on my mind that night..... I heard your voice as I had the fight of a lifetime. I survived it because of you, My Dear Cousin....
Thank you for looking over me.
Still love you, and miss you, Cuz

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 32nd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
I pray for solace for all those who love and miss you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Your family is in my heart's embrace. Thanks to your family and friends for sharing their memories and devotion to you through their reflections.
Rest In Peace.

Remember Your Knighthood
You proved yourself worthy of mental prowess; showing the ability to think and learn
You proved yourself worthy of physical ability; with the ability to fight for right
You proved yourself worthy of spirit; by always knowing which way to turn.
The mind, body, and spirit were present; you are now a Knight.
Upon graduation, they gave you a shield,
And a sword by which to defend
Keep the spirit of others before you
Keep it untarnished to the end.
Each moment as you bare your garb, and prepare for the battle of the day.
Take a minute to remember in your heart, the greater good for which we pray.
Remember…. You are a Knight
