It has been a year since my husband passed and the emotions were overwhelming. I am getting better at this everyday but it is not easy. I thank God everyday for the opportunity and experience to know such a beautiful person. He was one of a kind. His love was so true and authentic. He made me a better person. I am blessed with the relationship I have with God. Without Him, I can do nothing. The Bible says in Psalm 34:17 "The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles." I thank everyone for their prayers.

Lord God of unfailing love, to those families in our beloved nation, the United States of America, who are suffering in the wake of the loss of a law enforcement family member, help us to provide support. Allow us to be their rock and fortress in a time of immense pain and uncertainty. Help us to keep them safe and nourished in their time of grief, suffering beside them as we move toward healing and reconciliation. Lord God, in Your compassionate mercy, hear my prayer. In Christ Jesus, Your beloved Son, and by His authority, I pray. Amen.

I am the wife of Officer Geoffrey Redd. My name is Kimberly Redd. I love my husband so much. He was a true man of God and loved to serve and protect the people and property of the City of Memphis. He put his uniform on everyday with dignity, integrity and respect. He loved people and helped anyone he came in contact. He was an unselfish man and a giver. No greater love than this for a man to lay down his life for a friend. My husband gave the ultimate sacrifice, his life. So many officers every day awake and pray they will return home to his or her family. They serve faithfully as my husband did. On 2/2/2023, I was expecting my husband to come home but I got an unforgettable knock on our door. My life was changed that moment. It has been difficult but with God I am making it everyday. I thank all the people in uniform for sending me letters and cards and people from all over the world for showing your love to our family.

„Proszę przyjmijcie wyrazy najszczerszego
współczucia i żalu.
Wiem że nikt i nic nie wypełni już tej luki
w Waszych sercach,

ale nigdy nie odbierze Cię

"Somebody killed a policeman today, and a part of America died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect will be buried with him at his side.
The suspect who shot him will stand up in court, with counsel demanding his rights,
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids and spend alone many long nights.
The beat that he walked was a battlefield, too, just as if he'd gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast, to his name they will add a gold star.
Yes, somebody killed a policeman today, it happened in your town or mine.
While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors, a cop put his life on the line.
Now, his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street, and he stands at each new rookie's side.
He answered the call and gave us his all, and a part of America died."
