I was nine years old when my uncle was killed, I remember my mom crying and me trying to tell her not to cry, that it would be alright, but of course it would never be alright. Time softens the pain, but it never goes away, you will forever be missed Uncle Charles.

I would like to thank you for this remembrance of my Uncle Charlie. I knew the story of his passing, but because I was so young I didn’t know the date. My mother, Theresa A Cadorette, and her sister, Ruth Cadorette were devastated with his passing. Thank you for keeping his memory and those of other fallen Officers alive.

It's been a year since the below reflection was posted. I was going to not post but after posting for two other Bay State Brothers, I couldn't pass by Patrolman Cadorette without looking like I didn't care. I was going to skip because I wanted this to stand. However, I succumbed to guilt and my post is the one made by Mr. Rich Aubin last year. It's beautiful.

Charlie, I still remember my father, Dick, talking about the call he received fifty years ago to this day informing him of the death of you, his cousin. Your passing stayed with him for the rest of his life, until he was laid to rest on the date of your death, forty-six years later. I've always felt a strong connection to you, as you ended your watch on my first birthday.

Thank you for your service and courage. Your sacrifice has inspired me to do everything I can to ensure that every Officer and Firefighter in Garland, Texas has the training, equipment and staffing to come home safely at the end of every shift.

Fifty years - you are not forgotten. Rest well in your eternal peace.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 46th anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I pray for the solace of all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.

Patrolman Cadorette, today marks the 41st anniversary of your murder at the hands of a lousy car thief. The memorial page doesn't say if the driver of the first car was caught, we can only hope he or she was.

You took a bold risk that may have saved your partner's life that night. You and he are both heroes in the purest sense. Where ever he is now, I pray he's gotten over that awful night. My heart also goes out to your family. All four of your kids are grown now but even after all this time, I'm sure they still feel your presence and I'm sure you never really left them.

God Bless and may you continue to Rest in Peace, Brother.

Your heroic attempt to save your partner's life (especially at a time before the use of body armor was the norm) shows how much courage and character you had. You are an inspiration to us all.
