A police officer should be remembered not by how he died but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family, and the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!

Heavenly Father, I pray for the families of all America’s Peace Officers who have fallen in the Line-of-Duty and we thank You for their sacrifices. Bless the lives of their families so they might find healing. Help their departments support their families. Even though their deaths might have been senseless, make something good come out of these situations so that the departments and jurisdictions in which they lived and worked might be stronger because of their lives and their deaths. In Your mighty and holy name, I pray. Amen.

"And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” [Isaiah 6:8 ESV]

I think I taught you at the police academy, my heart is so stricken. We teach these young men and women always afraid that one will have to make the ultimate sacrifice. In a day that the current culture doesn't support the police this young man deserves respect for his responsibility that no one should dare doubt. We honor you and your family but with such sad hearts. Rest in peace my dear brother in heaven as a hero! You have done your job well. You now sit with God and others before you who have saved us all!
