My heart is broken for her fiancé, K9 Brev, her family, friends, and Richmond Police Department. I may not have known her, but we have several things in common, basketball number 22, first female K9 handlers in our areas, same size agencies, and engaged to be married to our fiancés.
Seara, we have the watch from here; watch over us, sister in blue!

Families and friends, co-workers, and the community served and loved by K-9 Officer Seara Burton-I continually prayed for Seara’s recovery; I prayed along with you daily for that miracle. I cried with you, and as she began to breath on her own, I rejoiced. She fought in an exemplary manner, in the manner in which she protected all of you. She is a leader, and I will remember her by the fondness you all have for her, the love she had for her work, for Brev, and for all of you. She knew she was loved, supported and believed in, and she had your backs. May God comfort all of you, and may He bless you abundantly for your faithful watch over her, God’s daughter. You blessed her abundantly.

On behalf of the Ohio Attorneys General Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation, our thoughts and prayers are with the immediate family of Police Officer Seara Burton and the extended law enforcement family of the Richmond Police Department, Indiana.
End of Watch Sunday, September 18, 2022.
Rest in Peace sister and watch over us. We will protect and serve from here on in your honor.
I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.

Heavenly Father, we come before You today grieved in heart over the divisions in our country; the United States of America. We grieve for every life lost to violence, regardless of color or creed. And we especially grieve this day over the senseless deaths of America’s Peace Officers whose sworn duty is to protect us from harm. Please grant comfort and hope to their families. We know from the Holy Scriptures in Romans 13 that Peace Officers have a sacred task, to enforce laws that protect the innocent and punish the guilty. We pray that You will protect them as they serve us. Give them wisdom, discernment, and a deep desire to serve You. Please surround every Peace Officer in our nation, the United States of America, with battalions of warring angels to protect them from harm. We stand together in the powerful and mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ against every work of Satan intended to inflict injury and death on our Protectors. May Satan’s power be thwarted, in Your mighty and holy name, and his plans exposed by Your Light. Lord Jesus, we know that Your word teaches us that in You there is neither Jew nor Greek, neither slave nor free, neither male nor female. All superficial distinctions between us have been abolished by Your sacrifice on the cross. By Your grace and power, lead us into a new day of racial harmony in our country, a day in which Your name is again lifted high in our nation, the United States of America, and the rule of law is honored by all. Please grant us spiritual, political, and cultural leaders who will speak to us with Your wisdom and Your truth. Please renew us in spirit, mind, and heart that we may once again be “One Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”. In the mighty and holy name of the Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior, our Redeemer, and the Mediator between us, Heavenly Father, in prayer, we pray! Amen.
Scripture Verses:
“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” [2 Chronicles 7:14 ESV]
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” [Psalm 23:4 ESV]

It is so sad to learn that yet another young officer has been murdered. We shall never know what great things she might have accomplished, the good that she may have done and the lives she may have helped changed in a positive way because of the actions of a fool. Her community will never be the same again now that she is gone, and all because of something so stupid as drugs. May Almighty God bless her family and send His angels to comfort them, to take away the pain and leave them with only the love and memories that are precious to them. May the Lord assure the family that they will see their officer again in that far off land as she takes her place with her fellow fallen officers within the Honor Guard of our Lord.
