A police officer should be remembered not by how he died but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family, and the San Antonio Police Department. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!

NEVER GIVE UP!

I remember that shooting. The officers were escorting the suspect out of a restaurant when the shooting occurred. One of the injured officers went next door to a hotel to call for assistance and seek cover, but was denied entry by the hotel employee.

I attended a conference which included a speaking engagement by Officer Evans. He spoke of endurance and perseverance. He wore the slug that almost killed him on a necklace around his neck. He never gave up!
