Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Detective Charlie W. Mackie, Sr.

To the Family of Charlie Mackie, I just learned of His passing. Charlie and I were in same Company in The Police Academy. He was a Gentleman who went about doing his work and setting an example for the Younger recruits in the class to which I was one. After graduation it was years before I saw him again . It was always good to see Him. He had a great smile and hard worker. May He Rest in Peace

Lord Jesus, the endeavors of our nation’s law enforcement officers are often thankless. They must deal daily with the most wicked and volatile members of society. Sometimes, this interaction even costs them their lives. For this example, we praise and thank You. For like You, they are often mocked and scorned. Yet, even for their enemies, they laid down their lives. In Your mighty and holy name, I pray. Amen.

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” [Psalm 23:4 ESV]

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons [and daughters] of God.” [Matthew 5:9 ESV]
