Reflections for Senior Police Officer Robert Eric Duran
Thank you Ofc Duran for your service and for the service you provided to our city. The streets of Santa Fe will forever be grateful. May the Lord be with your wife and sons and with your family at SFPD. Your legacy will survive and carry on through the relationships and impact you have left on so many. God speed and rest easy Duran. Vaya con Dios.

Heavenly Father, You are Compassionate and Merciful. None of our nation’s law enforcement officers leave home without the fear of not returning at the end of their watch. It is a fear that is lived daily. Unfortunately, the worst does sometimes come to pass, and lives are left shattered. Lord God, bless and keep the hearts and souls of those who have lost loved ones in the line of duty. Wipe away the tears from their eyes. Soothe their pain and bind up their emotional wounds through the wounds of Your beloved Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. In His name, I pray. Amen.
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” [Psalm 23:4 ESV]
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” [Matthew 5:4 ESV]

A BENEDICTION FOR SENIOR POLICE OFFICER ROBERT DURAN:
Together we are bonded together by grief and gratitude, as we give our highest respect to your life and sacred honor. You left a courageous legacy of public safety and community trust. We see your beauty from ashes and we must salute you. Your PD, family members and friends will remember your name and cherish memories. Although the legacy of your dreams and of stories was cut short, we will carry on your legacy by giving each other support. Our very souls - your work partners, family and friends, and sympathetic strangers too, are wounded by the loss of America's best. We look for peace as daylight fades in the West.
Daybreak is coming.
May our faith triumph over our fears with the Lord's blessing:
"The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace." LC

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family, and the Santa Fe Police Department. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!
