Officer Mora, I have been feeling very sad upon hearing about what happened to you and your partner. Both of you were very young and very brave. I am so very sorry that both of you fell victim to that very violent perpetrator. Both of you deserved to be treated with the highest of respect at all times.
Officer Mora, you had a wonderful smile and a heart of gold. Your life had meaning to the people that loved you, your friends, coworkers and thousands who never met you. You had dreams, and I am so sorry that you didn’t live long enough to see them fulfilled. Rest peacefully now, in the Kingdom of Heaven. God loves you.

We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of Police Officer Wilbert Mora and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of justice and peace. Sadly, our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage who they will love and respect forever.

To the family, friends, and colleagues of Officer Mora, I would like you to know that a lot of people pray for you, and my hope is that their prayers will give you the strength necessary to move on.  Just as you were always with him when he walked the beat or patrolled the streets, know that he will always be with you - wherever you may be.  In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Officer Mora is a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family, and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Rest in Peace brother and watch over us. We will protect and serve from here on in your honor.

I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.

By Jon F. Hooper
