On behalf of the Klamath County Sheriff's Office in Klamath Falls Oregon, we send our sincerest sympathy in the recent loss of your Officer II, Fernando Arroyos, from complications of gunshots wounds while being off duty. It is always a huge loss when a fellow Officer II succumbs from gunshots wounds. His bravery and courage to protect and serve your community has not gone unnoticed. Our Prayers and Thoughts to Officer II Arroyo girlfriend who was not injured in this situation.

I read his bio and he was an incredibly bright young man who graduated with honors from UC Berkeley.

I was somewhat taken aback when I noted the location where he was looking at homes, as it is an area claimed by one of the most violent Hispanic street gangs in Los Angeles County. However, he seemed to be an exceptional young man who was working to make a difference and influence lives in his community through actions and not just words.

What a horrible loss for his family, the LAPD and mankind.

Rest in peace Fernando.

Richard, Lieutenant
Retired LASD
